New Working Papers: The History of Niagara

In October 2022, I joined the Niagara Community Observatory as a postdoctoral fellow and project lead. Our task: to explore the history of economic development in Niagara Region, and the challenges and opportunities that face Niagara today.

Our research has been divided across the historically significant sectors of the Region: agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, hydroelectric power generation, and marine transportation. We are also doing additional work on emerging sectors within Niagara.

Though there is a lot of work left to do, we have released some preliminary research in the form of working papers - all related to the sectors outlined above. You can read the papers for free here: https://brocku.ca/niagara-community-observatory/policy/.

Have a gander and let me know what you think! These are living, working documents, and there is always more left to learn about this beautiful community.
